shift forward

Cheers to the departure of a rewarding yet challenging 2017… and now, I am excited to discover all that 2018 has in store!!
January through March promises a plethora of art exhibitions, I am also currently applying for spring and summer art fairs, programming fun workshops, and there are sure to be a few surprises sprinkled about too!

Children’s Museum Residency

Starting January 19, I will be enjoying an artist residency at the Children’s Museum of Denver, Marsico Campus, (by the Aquarium). This place is designed just for kids to explore interactive super fun exhibits that allow children learn and discover on their own terms. I will be in the artist studio, navigating drop-in activities and working on a very special permanent installation piece, to commemorate the joy and wonder of my experiences during the residency. Come see me on most Fridays and Saturdays January 19 through March 31, with a closing reception on Wednesday April 4 from 6-7 pm.

Also, I am a member of the Niza Knoll Gallery Mix Co-op, 915 Santa Fe Dr, open Wed-Friday* 1-5 pm, Saturdays 1-4, *First and Third Friday 5-8 pm, or by appointment.  We will have our annual group exhibition in April – stay tuned for details.

Upcoming workshops

What better time to learn some new art making skills than right now?! Check out the ‘workshops & events’ page on my blog for a complete listing and registration links. Space is very limited, register today. Private tutoring sessions and group events are also a great option, email for rates and info.

~ the beauty of balance ~

In seeking a balanced life, I am happy to transition from the intense summer market season to teaching responsibilities.  I feel so fortunate to continue as part-time instructor for DU, the Art Student’s League and Think 360 Arts. These opportunities put me in touch with a wide range of ‘artists’, young and old, new and proficient. Interactions and experiences educate me in turn, and help me become a better observer, more effective communicator, and ultimately a stronger artist.

Feeling the arrival of cooler fall weather, I am also aware of the impending holiday season… production lists, materials/supplies, and fresh ideas have taken over the studio, as I hope to create new, exciting things that would be just the perfect gift.

Also, this week, I will begin hanging a site-specific installation for the Denver Art Museum – I am excited, nervous, anxious, but mostly I am beside myself with appreciation for such a fantastic opportunity!! This will be located on the first floor in the project space, opening October 7 (FREE DAY!), up through September 2018.

Check my events page HERE for the full list of  events and workshops.

… more art faster …

As summer begins to wind down, the oncoming Fall season and school year are on the horizon. Regardless, my projects and production schedule somehow just keep going… it’s a good thing, but every now and then I do pine for those lazy days of years past.

My LAST local market of the season will be at Hazel & Dewey Modern Mercantile Closing Sale  THIS Saturday 11-4 pm, 70 S. Broadway.
They will be having a Pop-up Maker’s Market, this is for YOU, so please be sure to stop by to catch some great deals!

Finally, I have been selected to create a site-specific installation for the Denver Art Museum – WOW – such a huge honor, I am beside myself with excitement and appreciation!! This will hang in the first floor project space, opening October 7, and will be up through September 2018. In the meantime, I have a lot of art to create. 🙂

Check my events page HERE for the full list of  events and workshops.

life, energy, connections

In the ongoing creative pursuit of personal and professional fulfillment,
I have discovered and explored so many wonderful paths along the way.

I continue to enjoy my residency at the Museum of Outdoor Arts, in the Englewood Civic Center.  While I consumed with juggling several upcoming projects and teaching opportunities, fortunately, I have also found the time to create a new series of my personal artwork.
Come by and check it out THIS FRIDAY!!
